FINALLY!!! an honest, ethical, reliable mechanic shop!! After MANY bad experiences with our van we searched yelp for some help... The reviews don't lie!! Rick is everything the reviews say and more. He even loaned us a car while our van was being repaired... now who does that!!??? He and Jack took care of our problem with our air conditioning.(after several others had botched the job before) and did an inspection of the whole van. We had been told several different things from several different mechanics including two Dodge dealerships..(horror stories could be told about these dealerships)...needless to say their diagnosis was all upselling and bogus...Rick told us what we needed and was able to take care of our problems for much less than other quotes. We rely on our vehicle for our work ( who doesn't right?) but it is truly vital for us. Without our van and equipment we cannot work...So finding someone who we can trust and rely upon is a godsend. Rick is now our go to guy for sure.. We HIGHLY recommend you give him your business with confidence. He tells it like it is..and that's worth gold these days!! If you've reached the end of your wits, as we had, if you've had enough of dealerships / fancy shmancy mechanics with a total lack of competence, ethics and integrity... seek no further.... Rick is the answer to your quest!!

What a wonderful experience! I came to Rick for some maintenance on my '99 Toyota 4Runner that has close to 200,000 miles on it. I had been wary to put a ton of money into my car given its age, but it came time to get a new timing belt, so my boyfriend helped me call several places to get quotes. After calling around the 10 or so shops, we got quotes from ranges of $600-$1,200 for a timing belt kit (Includes water pump, crank seals, etc.). Rick not only quoted me the lowest price, but he also provided the best Toyota OEM equipment, was very professional, and stuck to his 6 hour deadline for the job. It's been about a month now since I went in for my visit, and my car has been running great ever since. Professionalism: Rick and his staff were very kind and made me very comfortable with the work that he and his crew was going to perform. After talking to all the other shops, Rick was one of the most courteous and was able to educate me on what the parts were and why they are important. Timing: After calling around the other shops, most of them wanted to keep it for a full 8 hours. Rick told me that he could complete it in 6 hours and guaranteed that he'd finish it before he left for the day (I dropped the car off around noon). He stuck to our deadline without excuses and I couldn't be happier. Open on Saturdays: Most of the other shops are either (a) closed on Saturdays, or (b) only open until 1pm. Rick's shop is open for the full-day on Saturday, which is when I typically get around to doing my errands. Honesty: Rick is a very easy going, low pressure, and trustworthy guy. After pulling off the parts, **dun dun dun** he saw that the thermostat also needed replacing and the coolant needed to be flushed. Given that I had left for at lunch, Rick was able to send me pictures via text message of the corroded engine parts, which made me much more comfortable coughing up a couple extra bucks to fix the issue. Overall, I give Rick an A+ all around.

Rick, like his father, has always provided the best service at a great price. He's straight forward with his estimates & will say what needs to be done. He goes out of his way to help a customer even when he's closed and still at his shop.

Purchased a Yelp Deal 2 check-ins Just brought my vw rabbit in for the free bday oil change. Work was done efficiently and in the amount of time promised, with a free car wash - that was a nice surpise! This time Rick told me the car needed a coolant flush, but didn't insist on doing it on the spot. I told him I will call to schedule over the summer, and I will! Thank you, Rick! I found this shop as a result of a grupon or amazonlocal deal -- $19 for an oil change and car wash. Great, I thought, that's less than the price of an oil change alone, and my VW Rabbit was just about due for one and way overdue for a good cleaning. Well, my wallet got good and clean, as it turns out. I made the appointment, no problem, brought my car in, and Rick gave me a lift home cause he said it would be a few hours. When I got a call from him later that day, I thought it was gonna be that the car was all ready. Instead I hear " when my mechanic was changing your oil, he noticed your brake pads were low, they need to be replaced, oh, and there's water in your brake fluid, that needs to be flushed out." Well I have no idea if this is true or not. My car has 37K miles on it and it's possible, I suppose. I hadn't noticed any problem with my brakes, but you never know. I was gonna bring it to the dealer for its 40K inspection in a few months and it's certainly a possibility they would have told me the same thing, and charged a heck of a lot more. So after a bit of hesitation (and price investigation) I said go ahead. Only problem was, I had plans for the evening and needed my car back. Rick said he thought he could have it done in time. Well he couldn't. He ended up picking me up and giving me an old Jetta to use overnight, which aside from the squeaky door and strange crayon-like smell, drove fine, in spite of the two warning lights on the dash which he told me to ignore. I put $10 worth of gas in the Jetta and came by the next day to pick up my car, which was a lot cleaner than it had been (but not perfect!) and my wallet was lighter too. Bottom line is, if I did get services performed that I actually needed, by my accounting I saved about $235 by having Rick do the work instead of the dealer, (which is about what he charged, so I guess that comes out to half as much). My Rabbit drives fine now and I am happy (but then again it drove fine before). Oh, and as a bonus Rick gave me a 2 week VIP pass to Equinox that I'll probably give to my son to use as I am a YogaWorks devotee!! All in all, a pretty good experience, but I was taken aback by what seemed to be a bit of "bait and switch". I think a better way to have handled it would have been to let me pick the car up and then have told me I will probably need a brake job in a few months, and to please come see him. I would have, but maybe others wouldn't have. It just left a little bit of a bad taste in my mouth 'cause I'll never know for sure, and that's why I gave only 3 stars. I think I probably will use him in the future, as I like to support small shops over "big box retailers" in all areas. And he is one heck of a nice guy :-)) Read more
