Hawthorne and Lawndale Auto Repair

I normally don't leave reviews but I keep getting surprised by the level of honesty and reliability I received at Ricks. I lived in a small town outside Modesto and we had one mechanic he did the best work for the area. I moved to LA and was swamped by the number of auto shops some did "cash only repairs" and where not reliable at all. I read the negative reviews on yelp for most of the shops in the area and when I was reading Ricks I noticed a pragmatic attitude that made me interested it meeting him. I also needed my air conditioning repaired so I figured let's see what he is made of. I was not disappointed he was honest and not in the business of up selling he told me what was a must and what could wait. I have been going to his shop since and over the years he has made huge updates to his service that I have never seen before. He will give a full diagnostic of your car from head to toe and email you a list of repairs and rate priorities you can then call him and go through the list with the mechanic working on your car to figure out what to work on. They email and text updates on your repairs like waiting for parts running road test and ready for pickup. Bottom line it's a shop that's got that small town feel in a huge city. Don't take my word for it head in shake his hand and know your getting quality work and low prices.

Had a dead turbo, covered under extended warranty. Didn’t have to do a thing, Mike handled all the phone calls and paper work (what a headache) Rick and his crew (Jack and don) took care of the rest. Took it in on Monday, said it would be ready by Friday. Got a call on Thursday my car was ready! Thanks guys! Great job!

Loved their personal touch by phone call or emailing of details of work to be done. Also, their upfront honesty of telling you the extent of damage and the costs of correcting it.

I am a happy customer. Rick's fixed my problem - they were very professional, honest and respectful. The kept me informed as to the status of the work either via phone or email which I really appreciated. You can bet I will return the next time I have a problem with my car. I would recommend them highly to all of my friends.

Great to work with, timely and professional.

This is the cleanest auto repair shop I have ever been to! Rick and his whole team were terrific the whole time. They were friendly and kept me updated every step of the way. I highly reccommend!
